If you are planning to hold your ceremony with us, you will still need to book the registrar to legally perform the ceremony.

Civil ceremonies last between 25-35 minutes depending on how you personalise them.

We can suggest a number of musicians to play at your ceremony, from harpists, classical guitarists, pianists or even a string quartet.

Church Weddings

For couples planning a church wedding in Gloucestershire, Manor By The Lake is ideally situated as a reception venue for ceremonies taking place in many of the areas beautiful local churches or Abbey's.

Timings for church ceremonies vary from church to church but typically last around an hour. After your ceremony allow time to greet your guests and for your photographer to get all the photographs you would like at the church.

Following your ceremony, plan your journey time back to the Manor. We would recommend allocating a member of your party to call us the moment you leave the church, to ensure our operations team is on hand to greet you as soon as you arrive.

If you require transport to and from the church we will be happy to recommend one of our trusted car and limousine services. Check-in to bedrooms is anytime after 12:30pm.

TOP TIP: Book your Registrar as soon as you book your wedding with us to secure your preferred timing for your ceremony.

Manor wedding spaces

Manor By The Lake has several beautiful spaces, including the grand Ballroom, Maximilian and three beautiful outdoor ceremony spaces - the Italian Pavilion, Lakeside Pavilion and the Manor Arches.

As an exclusive use venue we are able to offer you the exclusive use all of these spaces and areas for your wedding.

The Maximilian

A bright and beautiful period room with magnificent views of the impossibly pretty gardens, the Maximilian is an absolutely stunning space. And that’s not all, it’s a versatile space which is licensed for ceremonies for up to 100 guests, so you can really bring your vision to life.

The magical Maximilian allows the natural daylight to flood into the room from the south, keeping the room bright for the photographs and video without dazzling the guests.

Italian Pavilion

Set within the beautifully landscaped gardens, the Italian Pavilion offers a romantic outdoor setting for your wedding ceremony.

Its position within the grounds allows for a seamless flow into drinks receptions on the lawn, as well as fantastic photography opportunities. The space can comfortably accommodate up to 250 guests.

The Ballroom

Opening out onto the lake and gardens, our grand ballroom is light, bright, and incredibly spacious. The creative diamond layout in the Ballroom allows up to 160 guests to see the service no further than five rows back. This layout can be easily scaled up or down by 20 guests depending on the number you have invited. More traditional layouts are also available.

For your Wedding Breakfast, the Ballroom can quite comfortably hold up to 250 guests. It’s also got a large bar, stage and facilities making it the perfect place to dance the night away.

Manor Arches

The dramatic entrance to the manor is a licensed setting for an outdoor wedding ceremony of up to 200 guests.

A grand and picturesque location, we can’t think of a more memorable backdrop – and it’s perfect for photos too!

Lakeside Pavilion

Picture saying your vows with our impossibly pretty lake as a backdrop framed by our beautiful gardens.

Our beautiful Lakeside Pavilion, licensed for outdoor ceremonies is an absolutely stunning and completely unforgettable setting. Suitable for ceremonies for up to 300 guests.

Marguerite Library

For larger guests numbers the adjoining Library allows extra guests to see the service held in the Maximilian from this adjoining room.

The Marguerite Library is the perfect place for guests to gather after your ceremony or on arrival from church.

The Lyderick

Lends itself to a variety of different layouts, the Lyderick makes a fantastic space for a wedding ceremony and even a lounge and breakfast room for your guests to enjoy the next day.


Licensed for ceremonies and with impressive wood paneling and sweeping views of the grounds, the Lyderick can also happily hold a larger number of guests – making it one of our most versatile spaces.

The Rock Bar

With three different areas, a bar, jukebox, and even a game rooms with table football and a pool table.

The Rock Bar is the perfect place for your wedding party to enjoy before the ceremony and unwind after hitting the dance floor!

How do I book my registrar to marry me at Manor By The Lake?

Now that you have made the very exciting decision to get married at Manor By The Lake, if you are wanting a legal civil ceremony to take place with us, please proceed to book your registrar as soon as possible by calling 01452 425060.  You can choose anytime 1pm onwards for your ceremony to take place, any questions which you have about timings before you call the registrars please just ask.

What time can wedding preparations start?

You can begin your wedding preparations in the Cottage from 08:00 on your Wedding Morning. Earlier access can be arranged if you need an early start!
Access to your chosen suite in the Manor House is from 11:30. The team on the day will advise and assist when this is ready for you to move across for those finishing touches and photo opportunities.
We also have our wonderful Rock Bar as a secondary area – access is from 11:00 and this is a wonderful space for your photograph opportunities

What time is check-in and check-out for the bedrooms?

Guests are welcome to check-in to their bedrooms from 12:30pm. Check-out is at 10:00am the following morning.

Can you cater for special dietary requirements?

Our chefs are happy to accommodate any dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free and allergies. Please let us know in advance of any special requirements so that we can prepare accordingly.

Are you able to help us planning our wedding?

Absolutely! We offer a Planning Plus service which is always available to you. If you are interested, please let a member of the Planning Team know, so that they can go through the different services and options to you.

Is my dog allowed at Manor By The Lake?

Your dog is more than welcome to join you for your wedding day. The only time dogs aren't allowed in the room is during food service, but we do have a pet friendly room - Room 12. Please let us know in advance, so the team can prepare accordingly.
